Curtis came through the youth system at Tottenham Hotspur before joining Colchester United. He was part of the double winning youth side of 2013/14, as the Colchester United U18's won their league and the Youth Alliance Cup.

He made one first team appearance, coming on as a substitute in the their 6-3 FA Cup win over Wealdstone

He joined Needham Market on loan for the first half of the 2016-17 season, where he scored six goals in 27 appearances, before deciding to leave Colchester permanently to persue first team football, subsequently joining the Hawks.
