The Hawks continued their terrific run of form, with a first-half demolition job on the side that sat 19th in the Thurlow Nunn Division One South.
Just four minutes into the game, the reds were off to a flying start after a Tom Jelliman corner was headed goalwards by Dan Heald, and touched home by Gavin Cockman, to give Harlow an early lead.
Seconds later, the away side, thirsty for more, went straight into attack mode, with Jack Zielinski beating his man and hitting a shot narrowly wide of the post.
It really should have been 0-2 when a miscommunication between Newbury Forest’s goalkeeper Scammec and defender Kale resulted in Arley Barker getting the ball at his feet with an open goal. From 20 yards, Arley just slightly missed the goal, as the supporters watched, praying it would find the net.
The Hawks continued the search for their second goal when Tom Jelliman whipped in a free-kick that was headed by Gavin Cockman, who was only denied by the crossbar. His follow-up header was straight at Scammec.
James Pellin was forced into action for the first time when Chaka Barnett cut inside and hit a fairly-claimable effort to his near-post.
After 15 minutes of searching, the second goal was found by Harlow after Denzel Effah whipped in a pin-point cross, which was headed home by Jack Zielinski, his 10th goal of the season.
Harlow hit the crossbar yet again, as Newbury Forest’s defence began to fall apart. This time it was Denzel Effah, who cut inside and hit a shot on his right foot, saving the home side once again.
The ball was in the net again for Harlow after Gavin Cockman challenged Scammec for a loose ball and James Folkes tapped it in. Despite Gavin having actually won the ball, the referee awarded a foul on the goalkeeper and chalked off the goal.
Jack Zielinski came close to grabbing his second of the game when he was sent one-on-one with Scammec from Gavin Cockman’s pass. Scammec was quick off his line, though, and made a good save to deny him.
Yet again, Denzel Effah hit the crossbar - this time Harlow’s third hit of the game. The left-back crossed it into the box, which Scammec struggled to deal with, leading to it bouncing off the crossbar and back into play.
With his first major action since re-signing for Harlow, Terrell Egbri received the ball on the right-hand side, beat his man with ease and delivered a terrific ball to Gavin Cockman, who headed just over the bar.
After Fred Anderson was sin-binned and the home side were temporarily reduced to 10-men, Harlow pushed for more goals, and Terrell Egbri danced around some blue players in the box before being taken down, winning a Harlow penalty.
Denzel Effah stepped up and dispatched it emphatically to make it 0-3 in the first-half.
Adding insult to injury, Denzel Effah made it four on the stroke of half-time, as Jack Zielinski squared it across to him, the left-back volleying into an empty net.
Throughout the second-half, the home side were much more organised and Harlow slightly took their feet off the gas, with the win practically already confirmed.
The first action of the half came once again from a Terrell Egbri cross, that Gavin Cockman couldn’t quite hit the target with, from his header.
Terrell Egbri, who had been solid all game and was now playing on the left-wing, sprinted past his man again, but was recklessly taken out by Roberto Carvalho, resulting in a second yellow for the substitute. However, to Harlow’s dismay, Egbri limped off the pitch injured thereafter.
Once again, a header went amiss for Harlow; this time it was Dan Heald, who headed over from an Arley Barker corner.
Jordan Burnett came the closest to scoring of anyone in the second half to this point, when he opened his body up and looked to finish past Scammec, but the keeper got a good hand on it to parry it wide.
Continuing to dominate from set-pieces, Harlow almost scored again after Fabion Simms’ headed was met by Fred Agyemang, who steered it wide.
Jordan Burnett continued to look for a goal, hitting an effort on his left that had beaten Scammec, but travelled just wide in what marked the final action of the game.
Harlow emerged winners 0-4 and dominated throughout against a poor side, that they defeated 7-0 on the opening day of the campaign.
We thank you for your continued support, and hope you all have a fantastic Christmas.
