12 months ago, our star striker Gavin Cockman was told he would never be able to play football again due to an ongoing injury which had affected his working life as well as his football, and as a result he had to retire prematurely, something he’d never wished to do.

In the proceeding 12 months, Gavin joined our coaching staff alongside Danny Chapman, Leon Antoine and Thomas Church, and underwent treatment for his back problems.

After a very controlled post op rehabilitation and having been given the medical go ahead to resume training and playing, we are delighted to welcome Gavin back to finish the business that was prematurely ceased prior to his operation. We know that Gav has long harboured a desire to sign his career off properly and now having been given the assurance from his Consultant and physiotherapists we feel comfortable giving him this return opportunity.

He has been working hard behind the scenes to reach a certain level of fitness, and aims to give everything he can in the coming weeks and months to return to full fitness.
