The Hawks travel to league champions AFC Sudbury in the final regular Ryman League Division One North match before Wednesday’s playoff semi-final.
Having clinched the league title a couple of weeks ago, AFC Sudbury will be presented with the trophy after the game, and will surely want to go out on a high note with a win.
Harlow also have something to play for, as second place is still within reach. Thurrock and Harlow have secured home ties in Wednesday’s playoff semi-finals, but second place guarantees a home playoff final should they get there. Both sides are on 93 points, but Thurrock currently occupy second place courtesy of a +45 goal difference compared to Harlow’s +44.
To snatch second place, Harlow must better Thurrock’s result against Aveley, or if both teams win or lose then Harlow must have a goal swing of two or more.
Cray Wanderers and AFC Hornchurch have secured the final two playoff places, and know that they will travel to the second and third placed finishers respectively.
Despite being a final day fixture with the title already decided, the game promises to be competitive. Harlow are top of the form table with five wins and a draw in the last six outings, while Sudbury are fifth with four wins, a draw and a loss in the same period.
Hawks boss Danny Chapman may be tempted to make changes ahead of the important midweek game, while Junior Dadson could get some minutes under his belt on his return from injury.
